Limited Choices
I mean, can't we be both? Or neither? hmmmmm.
P.S: The only version of the song that I like:

Untitled
I thought up a couple of titles for this post but they sound so trite, specially since I am an outsider looking in so I might not have all the facts right about the situation. Hence, this is what I *believe* to be true about marriage without ever being married (Thank God?). I could be wrong - or I could be righter than I imagine.
This is just Part I of what I believe - more later.

Congrats and Goodbye
Unfortunate, yet true - most people/friends grow apart after they get married. On facebook it's a shock sometimes when I see people whose names I don't recognize, with whom I have nothing in common any more. Anyway, was just thinking aloud if I should cut down my 'friends' list a bit -'course this whole thing doesn't apply to ALL my married 'acquaintances'- just some.

De-NAY-ing it
What prompted this?
(Only for people who understand Urdu/Hindi - for those who don't understand: it's a torrent of grievances about how women are never happy, are always bitching and have a problem with almost everything)

"Girls Your Age..."
It's just too bad, rural ladies don't get to hear about how their urban sisters are driving around, free as a bird and have a lil something called 'life'...And I mean come on, having kids in your twenties - understandable but this lecture is given to 14-year-olds all over the country. What are you trying to tell us?

Could It Be? - Nah!.........Oh. It Could.
What triggered this?
I could put the link here but I won't. Don't want the hate to spread (not that it'll help) - the only thing I'll say is this: Please refrain from making fun of other people's beliefs. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, you are not in charge of passing judgement. Well okay, you are - on yourself. Aaaaaaaaaaaand you can begin......NOW.

Girls, Be Safe (In Fight Or Fright)
Don't answer that last question.
And do NOT discuss head-scarves/religious issue here. Look at
And while we're talking about cat fights, the only ammunition girls have is HAIR. I remember coming home from school and telling my dad about a catfight and even he said "Well, overall I'm guessing no harm done - hair can grow back" :P I am so glad I have short hair so I'm safe (relatively speaking).
If you don't believe me about hair ammunition:
That is NOT Mirpur, AK - I think it's a private exclusive school in one of the bigger cities.
Anyway, still not convinced?

F'oreal: Because You're Worth........ A Lot
This is why I hate going to unknown beauty salons to get my hair cut - the 'beauticians' are like leeches - In all honesty, I can't blame them for pushing it but I like having the freedom of choice if only for how fake I want to look (a little and not too much, as it turns out)

A Hairy Situation
Yes, I know - sort of a girly topic, right? 'Some' people (including my sibling) were doubting if I was a girl lady cuz I'm not into makeup and/or dressing up. (Yes, getting me to discuss clothes really is akin to torturing me - although that doesn't deter me from trying to sew them, I've noticed). But she and I have always wondered about the above. You get no points for trying to guess which situation applies to me. *sticks tongue out!*
P.S: From my school grammar classes, I seem to remember hair was to written in the singular - like sheep and/or fish so did they change the rule? Or did I understand incorrectly?

Deep Meaningful Conversations....
...with your friends can make you a better person.
Yes, I learnt a lot from this particular piece.
*beefee = best friend (or as I like to say Baise faaraind)

Waat Aaar Yao Saiy-ying?
If you're wondering
a) Whether I now know what was being said at the assembly...? Yes, I finally figured out in 8th grade that the words meant 'Stand-at-ease' and 'Attention'
b)What my accent sounds like? Well, that's debatable. I've been told by Americans that it sounds like Canadian and by Canadians that it sounds like American so I honestly can't say. I can't say I care either way cuz it's not like I'm winning any contests if it goes one way or another (that'd have been SO cool, though!)
P.S I hope to God that I used 'affect' correctly this time round

Gossip Women
One of the many reasons for my hate of Pakistani weddings.
*correction: That is an effect, not affect...I already gimp'ed it's head off so you can't tell in the photo above what I wrote originally. And don't think I was lazy and just wrote what I thought was correct, either. I did try to look up the correct version of a/effect but apparently, I'm dumber than I thought. All I can say is: DO NOT FOLLOW THIS WEBPAGE AND THEIR CRAZY ASS EXAMPLE:

Anyhoo...now ya see why ya can't be a Grammar N'zi when ya dunno nuthin'
